The Friends of Wild River State Park was established in 1993 by a small group of like-minded, environmentally conscious friends who love the park and the natural history and ecology of the land it's located on. Our board meets quarterly and organizes annual events in the park like the Candlelight Ski and Seegwan (Ojibwe for "Celebration of Spring"). We work closely with the park naturalist to enhance interpretive and environmental education programs at the park and fund the "Super Saturday Guest Program Series" which brings all kinds of fun and educational guests to the park during the summer. We send newsletters to a growing list of dues paying members and park neighbors that include updates from the park's manager (Paul Kurvers), the park naturalist (Dave Crawford), our president (Dave Kovlovsky) and information on our upcoming events in the spirit of creating open communication between the park staff, it's neighbors, and those who enjoy visiting the park.  Please BECOME A MEMBER if you are interested in receiving a newsletter or becoming more involved in our group!
